EVALUATION: Question 4

In our audience feedback for our rough cut it was stated that people were unsure on the black and white used in our video. They either did not understand why it was there or didn’t think it made sense/tied in well. This is what made us get rid of most of the black and white and add in the “rec” feature over some clips in the video to make it seem like the black and white clips were the artists memories.

I would say the audience feedback was really important as everyone we asked said they really liked it but when asked if anything could be improved the only thing they could think of was to do with black and white filter in the video. My group really liked the black and white so without the audience feedback we would have kept it in and wouldn't have put the template  of a camera recording over it. This was the key feature we were missing from our music video in order for it to make sense and to follow Andrew Goodwins theory of illustration. Therefore it would have been a mistake to leave it in as our music video would seem more like disjuncture rather than illustration.

My audience feedback on my digipak and advertisement was good. People said they liked the use of the hand tattoo synergy as the background and the smokebomb cutouts, they said it was clear that the music video and digipak and advertisement were linked.

EVALUATION: Question 2

How effective is the combination of your main product (video) and ancillary texts (digipak and advertisement)?

This was the blog I did on synergy during the planning stage of my ancillary texts.

The main features of our music video were the vibrant colours, hand tattoo synergy, smoke bombs and the artists hair always being tucked behind her ear.

I incoroporated these features into both my digipak and magazine advertisement.

Final goodbye.
